Proof stars Jennifer Beals (The L Word, Flashdance) as the brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Carolyn Tyler who suffers from the recent, devastating loss of her teenage son Will (Jared Ager-Foster), the breakup of her marriage and a growing estrangement from her daughter Sophie (Annie Thurman).Proof3

Sharing her skepticism about the existence of an afterlife is Ivan Turing (Matthew Modine), a wealthy tech inventor who is dying of cancer. However, Ivan admits he is curious about the topic and wants to pursue scientific understanding using his considerable financial resources.

He urges Carolyn to look for proof on what happens after death by investigating cases of reincarnation, near-death experiences, hauntings and other supernatural phenomena. It’s both a journey of exploration toward finding an answer to a question many people have asked, and a deeply personal and emotional journey for Carolyn, who hopes to find answers in the wake of her son’s death.

Assisting her on the task are Dr. Zedan Badawi (Edi Gathegi), a young intern from Africa; Janel Ramsey (Caroline Rose Kaplan), Ivan’s brilliant young protégé; and eventually crossing paths with a bestselling author who claims to be a psychic, Peter Van Owen (Callum Blue).

Also airing first and exclusive on Warner TV are The Last Ship (S2), Mondays at 9:50 p.m., Murder in the First (S2), Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. and Rizzoli & Isles (S6), Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m.
